Cathay Pacific Airways' passenger load factor exceeded 86.4% in April, reaching a new high for a single month this year

Data shows that Cathay Pacific's passenger volume increased by 36.3% year-on-year in April, and the available seat kilometers increased by 27.1% year-on-year. Cathay Pacific Airways' passenger volume increased by 26.6% year-on-year in the first four months of 2025. Meanwhile, the cargo volume of Cathay Pacific Freight in April increased by 13.6% year-on-year, and the available cargo ton kilometers increased by 8.9% year-on-year. In the first four months of 2025, the cargo volume increased by 12.4% year-on-year.
Cathay Pacific Group's Customer and Business President, Liu Kaishi, stated that the group's passenger transportation business performed outstandingly in April. Holidays in Hong Kong, mainland China, and other parts of Asia have driven strong demand for leisure tourism. On April 18th (peak travel during the Easter holiday), the group's Cathay Pacific Airways and Hong Kong Express carried over 115000 passengers, setting a new daily high after the epidemic.
Liu Kaishi mentioned that the group continues to expand its passenger route network, adding 5 new destinations in April, including Cathay Pacific Airways opening routes between Hong Kong and Urumqi in Xinjiang, China and Dallas in the United States, and Hong Kong Express opening routes between Hong Kong and Nha Trang in Vietnam, Ishigaki and Komatsu in Japan. The group will also launch more new destinations in the short term, aiming to achieve the goal of 100 global passenger destinations in the first half of this year.
