China Railway Group: During the May Day holiday in 2025, the total number of passengers transported by railways in China reached 112 million, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%

According to a recent announcement from China Railway Group, since the launch of the May Day holiday transportation, the country's railways have sent a total of 112 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%, with continuous daily growth rates exceeding 10%, ensuring safe, stable and orderly transportation.

On May 5th, the return passenger flow of railways continued to rise, with an estimated 21.1 million passengers being transported by railways nationwide, and plans to add 1896 passenger trains.

From the pre-sale situation of 12306 railway tickets, the popular departure cities today are mainly Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai, Xi'an, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, and Changsha;

The popular arrival cities mainly include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, and Changsha;

Popular routes such as Beijing to Shanghai, Xi'an to Chengdu, Shenyang to Beijing, Beijing to Hohhot, Nanning to Guangzhou, Wuhan to Shanghai, Taiyuan to Beijing have relatively concentrated passenger flows.

From the remaining ticket situation, on May 6th, there were still remaining tickets for Shanghai to Nanjing, Guangzhou to Zhanjiang, Chengdu to Chongqing, Wuhan to Shiyan, Beijing to Jinan, Shanghai to Wenzhou and Hefei, Guangzhou to Shantou, Changsha, Nanning, Shenzhen to Chaozhou and Shantou, Xi'an to Chengdu, Changchun to Yanbian, Dalian to Shenyang, Kunming to Jinghong and Dali, Hangzhou to Wenzhou and other sections.
