Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport added 14 new international passenger and freight routes in the first half of the year
According to the press conference on Guangdong's import and export situation in the first half of 2025 held by the Guangdong Provincial People's Information Office on the 18th, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport added 14 new international passenger and freight routes in the first half of the year.
Huang Bin, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Customs, stated at the press conference that Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the "air bridge" connecting the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and the world, with a global network of air routes. In order to support the construction of a "super aviation hub" at Baiyun Airport, Guangzhou Hai issued 20 measures in April this year to promote the facilitation of customs clearance at air ports, promoting smoother cross-border personnel exchanges and more efficient customs clearance of goods.
Huang Bin stated that the customs support Baiyun Airport in expanding its international route network and arranging dedicated personnel to guide airlines in quickly processing route applications and filing declarations. In the first half of the year, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport added 14 new international passenger and freight routes. To compensate for the insufficient capacity of direct flights and the demand for cargo transportation between non navigable points, customs support enterprises to transfer goods through the "air to air transfer" mode. After boarding at the departure station, import and export goods can stop at Baiyun Airport to change the waybill number, and then transfer to other flights to arrive at the destination, further simplifying customs clearance procedures and processes. In the first half of the year, Guangzhou Customs supervised 8.7 million inbound and outbound personnel and over 750000 tons of inbound and outbound cargo at Baiyun Airport, both reaching new highs in recent years.
In terms of improving cargo clearance, the customs has promoted the integration and linkage between the Guangzhou Airlines Logistics Public Information Platform and airport logistics, cargo terminal operations and other systems, realizing the visualization of the entire process of "clearance+logistics" information supervision and inspection, and increasing data transmission speed by 30%. Pilot the implementation of the "inspection before shipment" supervision mode for export LCL goods, allowing cross-border e-commerce goods to enter the supervision operation site in bulk form, undergo customs inspection first, and then be LCL shipped according to actual needs, shortening the inspection and release time by 70%.
In addition, in March of this year, the national "pre civil aviation security check+customs inspection pre" cargo station landed at the Baiyun Airport port. This move has achieved seamless connection between the comprehensive bonded zone and the airport apron. Enterprises can complete customs clearance, collection, security check, customs inspection and other operations in one stop in the airport comprehensive bonded zone, and the efficiency of export goods collection has been improved by 70%. The innovative "Special Area Cross border E-commerce Export Consolidation" model allows cross-border e-commerce enterprises to re sort and package different sources of goods returned from overseas or imported into the bonded zone into a single package for export. According to estimates, this move can help related enterprises reduce logistics costs by 30%, saving nearly 900 million yuan annually.
