On November 5th, the upgrading project of Guangzhou Shenzhen Railway Lines I and II was officially put into use, and the operating speed of high-speed trains was increased from 160 kilometers per hour to 200 kilometers per hour. After the improvement, 178 high-speed trains were operated daily, an increase of 27 trains compared to before. The departure interval from Guangzhou East to Shenzhen Station during peak hours was shortened to 5 minutes. At the same time, the railway department has also launched a market-oriented fare mechanism, which can reach a 25% discount on the published fare. It has also launched 30 day/60 time regular tickets for commuters to enhance travel flexibility.

This line connects multiple high-speed railway trunk lines such as Beijing Guangzhou, Ganzhou Shenzhen, and Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong through multiple stations. For example, Guangzhou East Station can connect to the Guangzhou Shantou and Ganzhou Shenzhen high-speed railways, providing access to many places such as Ganzhou and Shanghai; Guangzhou Baiyun Station connects to the Beijing Guangzhou high-speed railway, providing direct access to multiple core provinces in a north-south direction; Shenzhen Station is connected to the Xiamen Shenzhen high-speed railway, making it convenient to travel to southeast coastal cities such as Xiamen and Fuzhou, forming a composite transportation network of "intercity+high-speed railway", and enabling efficient transfer of cross regional passenger flow between the Greater Bay Area and the whole country.
