On August 16th, SolitAir, a professional cargo airline in the United Arab Emirates, officially opened its first direct cargo route to Urumqi, China. At the same time, this is also an important step for SolitAir to expand its "Global South" market strategy.

It is reported that SolitAir is a freight service provider specializing in daily flights and customized charter flights between Dubai and major trade routes in the "Global South". The opening of the Urumqi route marks the company's entry into the Chinese Mainland market. Previously, the airline had successfully operated the Hong Kong route. Data shows that the bilateral trade volume between China and the United Arab Emirates will exceed 101.8 billion US dollars in 2024, a year-on-year increase of about 7%. It is expected to continue to grow in 2025, and the relationship between China and the United Arab Emirates will maintain rapid and stable development.

The Dubai Urumqi air route opened this time will provide faster transportation for goods with high timeliness requirements, such as electronic products, pharmaceuticals, fashion products, and perishable goods, to meet the trade needs of the two regions and radiation areas. SolitAir founder and CEO Hamdi Osman stated that China is the cornerstone of this vision, and the new route will promote seamless flow of goods, contribute to the economic prosperity of the 'Global South', and provide new channels for logistics and industrial ecosystems in western China.

SolitAir has a 22000 square meter logistics facility at Dubai Markham International Airport (DWC), covering key trade routes such as China, the Middle East, Russia, Africa, and India. The company currently operates 5 Boeing 737-800BCF freighters and plans to add 2 more by the end of August. The fleet size will be expanded to 20 aircraft by 2027, with the goal of covering over 50 cities within a 6-hour flight radius of Dubai.
