Where is the possibility of opening a "third route" due to drought in the Panama Canal and blockage of the Suez Canal

The vast Earth and vast oceans are actually not many shortcut routes that truly save time and money. The Panama Canal, a major maritime artery in the eastern hemisphere, continues to experience drought, while the Suez Canal, a major maritime artery in the western hemisphere, is disrupted by the Red Sea crisis

But it's not without a solution, the plan to open a third route is being put on the global agenda.

At the beginning, we talked about the Arctic air route, but in reality, there is also a "Northeast Passage" for Shanghai transportation: a collection of sea routes that cross the Arctic Ocean and connect the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. This is the shortest sea route connecting Europe with the Far East, the Asia Pacific region, and western North America, which runs along the Russian coastline between the Pacific and the Arctic Oceans.

The Arctic Passage consists of two waterways: the Northwest Passage along the Canadian coast and the Northeast Passage along the Siberian coast.

This article mainly discusses the Northeast Passage, also known as the "Northern Passage", which is mainly located in the offshore waters of the Arctic Ocean along the northern coast of Russia. Starting from Northern Europe, cross the five major sea areas of the Arctic Ocean, including the Barents Sea, Kara Sea, Laptev Sea, East Siberian Sea, and Chukchi Sea, to the east until reaching the Bering Strait. On the Northeast Passage, there are as many as 58 straits connecting the five major sea areas, of which the most important are 10.

The biggest advantage of this waterway is:

Firstly, the provincial route, such as departing from London, UK to Osaka, Japan, has a Suez Canal route of 21200 kilometers, while the northern route can save 7000 to 9000 kilometers, with a total distance of approximately 15000 kilometers or less. The navigation time can be shortened by 30% to 40% compared to passing through the Suez Canal;

Secondly, it is very close to Northeast China, and towers near water are the first to receive the moon. The Suez Canal is actually controlled by Egypt, the Panama Canal is controlled by Panama, and China, as the world's largest exporter of foreign trade, actually has to pass through the canal gates of other countries.

At present, Chinese ship brands mainly export goods to the east, with some going through the Suez Canal in the Atlantic and others entering Europe through the Panama Canal. China's main ports are also concentrated in the eastern and southeastern coastal areas. With the opening of the Arctic shipping route, we will have an additional "fast lane" to Europe, which not only saves a lot of shipping costs but also reduces the risk of passing through many countries such as Somalia.
